Compresso: new PR mandate for the Appenzeller Huus
With its distinctive trio—Huus Bären, Huus Löwen, and the new flagship, Huus Quell—Compresso is strengthening its position as a PR specialist for resorts, hotels, and unique retreats.
Compresso's successful media work for numerous renowned Swiss hotels and restaurants has won over another establishment: the unique Appenzeller Huus in the heart of Appenzell. Since June 1, 2025, the trio has been relying on Compresso's public relations expertise and services to effectively and purposefully place its characterful establishments - including the upcoming reopening of Huus Quell - in the media. Compresso is responsible for press relations in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
Three houses, one attitude to life: the Appenzeller Huus
Inspired by the nature and culture of the Appenzellerland, the Appenzeller Huus brings together the best the region has to offer under one roof and stands for a new form of luxury: authentic hospitality, heemel architecture and living tradition. The lovingly renovated Huus Bären is one of the most traditional guesthouses in Switzerland and, with just 12 individually designed rooms and the original room height of 1.80 meters in some of the vintage rooms, is the origin of the Appenzeller Huus Resort in Gonten. A regular source of smiles at the 3-star superior hotel with a history dating back to 1602: the characteristic hayrack at the head of the beds, which makes it look as if real hay is squeezing out from behind the glass - country life at its best.
Directly opposite, the Huus Löwen welcomes guests with 24 modern rooms in the style of Appenzell moonwood. The 4-star superior hotel was built in the traditional Appenzell knitted construction style and is characterized by moon wood from the region, which was felled in certain phases of the moon - a natural material that stands for special stability, longevity and a warm, calming aura. In addition to the Jakob-Schlaepfer-Lounge, the summer terrace and the Löwensaal, the unique HotPot on the roof terrace invites you to pause, take a deep breath and enjoy.
The Huus Quell will follow in late fall 2025 - a 5-star superior hotel with visionary wellness standards. Like its historic neighbors, it is being built in traditional timber-knit construction, creating a first-class wellness area. Guests can expect an exclusive spa experience with cryo and oxygen chambers, biohacking, infrared therapy as well as an outdoor area with vitality pool, steam grotto and sauna igloo. The finest natural cosmetics, a tranquil design concept and a spa menu for body and soul perfectly complement the wellness oasis with a total of nine pools and fourteen treatment rooms. Several wine cellars and the "Botanicum" bar, where guests can watch Elmir Medunjanin's cocktail artistry, create a place for enjoyable encounters. Together with the fine culinary concept of Executive Chef Carsten Kypke, Huus Quell is a retreat for all those looking for something special.
