Bakom seeks management for "Cyber" group

The Federal Office of Communications has posted a job opening for a new leadership position. The agency is seeking a director for the new «Cyber» unit, which will be responsible for assessing and strengthening the cybersecurity of certain radio systems.

The Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) is looking for a head of the new "Cyber" group. As Lucio Cocciantelli, Head of Market Access and Conformity at Bakom, explained at the request of the Web Week explains, the group was created in January 2025 to test and optimize the cyber security of radio systems in Switzerland.

The new head is to assess the cyber resilience of radio systems and, if necessary, take measures in the event of security deficiencies. Other tasks include setting up a cyber test environment, carrying out targeted tests and continuously monitoring technical developments in the area of cyber security. OFCOM requires a university degree in engineering, ideally with a focus on information security. Experience in working with authorities, a conceptual approach, the ability to work in a team and a good knowledge of at least a second official language and English are also expected.
