NZZ launches "Good Morning Switzerland" newsletter
The Neue Zürcher Zeitung is expanding its offerings with a new newsletter, «Guten Morgen Schweiz.» In each issue, members of the domestic news desk focus on the topic of the day. The newsletter also provides facts, analysis, a platform for readers’ thoughts and input, and recommended articles. It has been published every weekday at 7 a.m. since Monday.
Global issues such as the war in Ukraine, the climate crisis and geopolitical shifts are currently dominating daily media coverage. Events in Switzerland often seem unimportant in comparison, but are of central importance for the country. Residents want to know about the state of the social welfare system, the army and the national school system. They are interested in the effects of mass tourism or the latest crime statistics.
The new "Good Morning Switzerland" newsletter focuses on this - and all other topics that move the country. Every morning, a member of the NZZ domestic editorial team writes a personal daily bulletin with an outlook on the topic of the day. Readers also receive facts, classification, a platform for their thoughts and input as well as article recommendations.
The newsletter is written alternately by Christina Neuhaus, Head of the Domestic Editorial Department, Fabian Schäfer, Head of the Federal Parliament Editorial Department, Andrea Fopp, Editor in Bern, and Sebastian Briellmann, Editor in Zurich.
"We write about what moves Switzerland," says Christina Neuhaus. "Fact-based and unagitated, without commentary, but with attitude - and hopefully always without being boring."
