This year's Grand Effie winner "Typically German" by Jung von Matt for Adidas wins in the "Activation" category. The campaign managed to stimulate a nationwide discussion on the 2024 European Football Championship with a new tonality and narrative style, with a consistent and courageous social media and influencer strategy, thus leading to a new record in the sale of jerseys for the German national team. The hotly debated pink away jersey of the German national team for Euro 2024 was the best-selling away jersey of all time. This makes it the campaign of the 2024 Effie year that impressed the Grand Effie jury the most with its effective brand communication.

A special mention for the first time

For the first time this year, the Grand Effie jury also honored another case with a special mention: "Recht gegen Rechts" by Jung von Matt for the Laut gegen Nazis association. Especially in these turbulent political times, the campaign shows how important it is to stand up for democracy and against right-wing movements.

Before the Grand Effie Germany 2024 awards ceremony, all six gold winners pitched live for the Grand Effie. Around 600 guests attended the award ceremony at the Kongresshalle am Zoo in Leipzig. In addition to the Grand Effie, the coveted Effie trophies in gold, silver and bronze were also awarded to all the other winners who had made their mark in 2024 with demonstrably effective brand communication. A total of six Effies were awarded in gold, eleven in silver and 35 in bronze.
