Thomas Wegmann will be responsible for CH Media's 18 newspaper titles and their digital platforms and will play a central role in the company's digital transformation, the media company writes in a press release. He succeeds Dietrich Berg, who retired from operational business at the end of June after around 15 years at AZ Medien and CH Media. Caroline Thoma, who is currently managing the division ad interim, will continue to be available to CH Media for strategic projects.

Wegmann joins CH Media from Allianz Suisse. As Head of Market Management and member of the Executive Board, his responsibilities there included corporate development, customer orientation and traditional and digital marketing. He also set up the "Global Center for Behavioral Economics" for the Allianz Group. Prior to this, he worked as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group for 14 years, most recently as Managing Director. He studied law at the University of St. Gallen and completed various positions abroad during his education and professional career.

"The media industry is undergoing fundamental change. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to further develop CH Media's journalistic business model and thus make a contribution to the future of journalism," says Thomas Wegmann about his new role.
