Pink: energy saving with PET recycling is surprisingly effective
In their current information campaign, PET Recycling Switzerland and the Rosarot agency are raising awareness about the energy efficiency of PET recycling through unexpected comparisons.
PET Recycling Switzerland has once again teamed up with the Zurich agency Rosarot for the current nationwide campaign. The aim is to raise awareness among the entire Swiss population that every bottle really does count.
Scientifically calculated, entertainingly implemented
The campaign uses surprising, science-based comparisons to show what can be achieved with the energy saved by recycling a single PET bottle.
If a PET bottle ends up in the bin and is incinerated, valuable materials are lost unused. In contrast, the recyclate is reused thanks to recycling. Carbotech has calculated how much energy is saved with PET recycling compared to incineration and the extent to which the saved energy consumption corresponds to various common activities.
As part of the campaign, four everyday energy comparisons, visualized with slightly quirky and entertaining images, provide an eye-catching "aha" experience. They are intended to visualize the importance of PET recycling and at the same time convey how easy it is to contribute to this. Creator videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube also reinforce the message. Disruptors are used to exploit synergies and draw attention to the equally sustainable importance of recycling aluminum cans.
The environment is not the only winner
On the landing page for the campaign, interested parties have the chance to win great prizes in a competition, and with a interactive environmental calculator you can have your personal energy savings calculated.
The integrated and interdisciplinary campaign focuses on online channels and DOOH media and will be rolled out in two waves. The first wave started at the beginning of June, the second will follow in late summer.
