NZZ expands its art offering and takes over Independent Collectors

The NZZ is expanding its expertise in the field of art and is building a topic-specific ecosystem to support this. A key component of the new platform is Independent Collectors, the world’s leading network for private collections of contemporary art, which the media company acquired at the end of 2023. The new art offerings will be expanded gradually over the coming months.

With its coverage of cultural events in the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung", the "NZZ am Sonntag" and the lifestyle titles "Z" and NZZ Bellevue, the NZZ has extensive journalistic expertise in the field of art. It also works regularly with renowned artists to offer exclusive art editions and transform the daily and weekly newspapers into unique art editions. These competencies are now to be NZZ Art will be networked and further expanded. In addition to the existing journalistic content and editions, art enthusiasts will have carefully curated access to the art world with additional journalistic content, offers and events.

Growth market Germany

A strategically important step towards the new art offering is the acquisition of Independent Collectors by the NZZ at the end of 2023. The Berlin-based online network has access to almost 7,000 collections from around 100 countries and is well connected with private collectors, galleries and artists.

The development of topic-specific ecosystems is a key component of NZZ's growth strategy.
