Tamedia: New Design Director, new Visual Desk
Tamedia has hired Thomas Weyres as its new Design Director. He is tasked with enhancing the visual identity of Tamedia’s publications and will head the Tages-Anzeiger’s new Visual Desk.
Thomas Weyres will become Tamedia's new Design Director as of February 1. In this role, he will be responsible for the visual appearance of all Tamedia titles. As Design Director, he will also further develop the user-friendliness of the digital presence and drive forward strategic processes to sharpen the visual brand identity.
He will also be responsible for setting up and managing the newly created visual desk at the Tages-Anzeiger. Weyres is part of the Product division and reports to CPO Regula Marti. In his role, he will work closely with all areas from technology and editorial to consumer business and advertising. From 2018 to 2023, Weyres was Head of Visual and a member of the extended editorial team at Berlin's Tagesspiegel.
