Radio SRF: Editor-in-chief Lis Borner takes early retirement

For more than 30 years, she has helped shape the editorial team at Audio, serving as editor-in-chief and a member of the executive board for the past twelve years. Lis Borner has now decided to take early retirement.

At the age of 63 and after more than 30 years with the company, Lis Borner has decided to hand over her duties as Editor-in-Chief and Executive Board member of SRF at the end of October 2023. Before she definitely takes early retirement in spring 2024, Lis Borner will be responsible for the upcoming revision of SRF's journalistic guidelines on behalf of SRF Director Nathalie Wappler.

Lis Borner got her start in 1991 at what was then Radio DRS, where she worked for the program "Echo der Zeit" as an editorial assistant, producer and presenter. She drove the further development of radio information - whether as editorial director of "Rendez-vous," "Tagesgespräch" and "Info3" or as head of the founding team of Radio DRS 4 News.

As deputy editor-in-chief, she was also responsible for repositioning morning primetime. In 2011, with the merger of radio and television, Lis Borner became Head of the Radio Editorial Department and took a seat on SRF's Executive Board.

The multi-stage process for Lis Borner's successor will start in the coming days. The position will be advertised internally and externally.
