After the majority shareholders of the parent company Zürichsee Medien AG announced at the end of September that it would withdraw from the media business and focus on their properties, they now presented the new owner at the end of October.

The takeover of Radio Zürisee fits perfectly into Fabian Villiger's field of activity, the responsible persons wrote in a statement on Thursday. The entrepreneur runs an event agency and serves as vice president of Rapperswil Zürichsee Tourism.

"The fusion of radio and event in combination with a strong region is a perfect match for me," Villiger was quoted as saying in the statement. The operational management of the private broadcaster will remain in the hands of CEO Matthias Kost and program director Tony Immer.

Radio Zürisee was founded in 1983 by Buchdruckerei Stäfa. This gave rise to Zürichsee Medien AG in 1988. In 1992, the station moved its studios to Rapperswil. Radio Zürisee employs 37 people. (SDA)
