Facelift for the Swiss Medical Journal

One of Switzerland's oldest professional journals, Die Schweizerische Ärztezeitung, was redesigned and given a comprehensive makeover by Lucerne-based agency Guido Von Deschwanden.

The Swiss Medical Journal, SAEZ for short, and the  Swiss Medical Forum  were to merge into one printed magazine, but continue to appear independently online. A new editorial section has been added to provide readers with even better information and further strengthen the position of the SAEZ. The first issue in the new look will be published on September 7, 2022.

Tightly timed, sensibly reduced

"The ideas of the agency Guido Von Deschwanden from Lucerne were fresh and well thought out. They address the needs of the readership in an attractive way. This combination convinced us," says Sandra Ziegler, Managing Director of EMH Verlag.

Owner of the agency, Creative Director Guido Von Deschwanden, is pleased with the addition to his portfolio: "A weekly publication is very complex and tightly timed. One focus of the conception was therefore also on producibility. The design is reduced to the essentials, but still offers enough scope to stage the most diverse articles in a varied way."

The Swiss Medical Journal is, with its more than one hundred years, one of the oldest professional journals in Switzerland. It is published weekly by the Swiss Medical Publishers EMH and has a circulation of around 38,000 copies including. Bulletin des médecinssuisses.
