Last but not least: A museum square for Mohammed

So now the infamous Danish Muhammad cartoons have made it to the museum. The twelve drawings published by the newspaper Jyllands-Posten in September 2005 will be on display in the permanent exhibition of the Media Museum in Odense. Initially, only the newspaper print will be exhibited as an example of problems in the exercise of freedom of expression, according to the head of the Danish Museum, Erwin Nielsen.
According to SDA, eleven of the twelve original drawings will later be purchased either by the Royal Library or the Media Museum itself. Incidentally, the twelfth has already been sold at auction for the equivalent of 3270 francs.
Several months after their publication, the cartoons triggered bloody mass protests in large parts of the Islamic world. We can only hope that the calm in the halls of the media museum will not be disturbed.
