SRF zwei focuses on in-house productions on the eve of the show
From the beginning of May, SRF zwei will be focusing on in-house produced content throughout its early evening program - with documentaries, background information and new faces. The early evening program will also open a window into SRG's digital universe.

From the beginning of May, the early evening on SRF zwei will begin at 5:50 p.m. with selected documentaries from Switzerland's other language regions. The films show life and people in French-speaking Switzerland, Ticino and Rhaeto-Romanic Switzerland. The content is broadcast in the respective national language with German subtitles.
Furthermore, SRF zwei opens a window into the digital offering at 6:50 p.m.: with reports, portraits and backgrounds from SRF's young channels. Each day of the week represents its own thematic cosmos - with fresh topics and new faces.
On Mondays, "Life@SRF" shows what moves young people - with reports on topics such as mental health, diversity or consumption from "SRF Impact" or "We, Myself and Why". On Tuesdays, "Music@SRF" offers a look at SRF's young music offerings. On Wednesdays, "Wissen@SRF" gets to the bottom of things - for example, with the environment and climate format "CO2ntrol". On Thursdays, "Comedy@SRF" is fun and entertaining. And on Fridays, "Kids@SRF" deals with big topics for the little ones, such as "Kinder-News," "Mini zwei Dihei" and "Anna erfüllt Wünsche.

Three questions for Andrea Krüger, channel manager at SRF zwei.
Why will SRF zwei show content in the original language on the eve of the show in the future?
We already regularly translate broadcasts and reports from RTS, RSI and RTR into German and broadcast them in our programs. Thanks to the further development of technology, this process is becoming noticeably less time-consuming. Furthermore, in the age of Netflix and the like, audiences have long since become accustomed to subtitles and have learned to appreciate them. These changes in usage habits and technological developments mean that we can now make more content from French-speaking Switzerland, Ticino and Romansh available to our audience. At the same time, we are responding to the repeatedly expressed desire for more original-language content on SRF. In short: more diversity, more Switzerland.
Why does SRF also broadcast content produced for YouTube or Instagram on a linear basis?
Formats like "SRF Impact" or "CO2ntrol" were developed for a target group that consumes very little linear television. However, the topics that the formats deal with are by no means only relevant for the young. People of all ages are concerned about climate, sustainability and mental health. With the new programming, we want to take the opportunity to also give fans of linear television an insight into our numerous digital offerings.
How is the content selected?
All content is curated editorially. For documentaries from other parts of the country, we draw inspiration from the offerings of our streaming platform Play Suisse and work with colleagues on the selection. For the content of our digital channels, we evaluate which formats and topics have great appeal digitally and have the potential to appeal to the linear TV audience as well. In the best case, our viewers discover real gems and new SRF channels.
