STV continues Swiss SDG tourism dialogue
After two years of development work, the community project “Swiss SDG Tourism Dialogue” will now be integrated into the activities of the STV’s newly established Center of Excellence for Sustainability (KONA). The STV is thus continuing its efforts to embed the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in the industry.

Furthermore, the SDG Dialog is present at important industry events with the aim of sensitizing participants to the Sustainable Development Goals and discussing opportunities and challenges.
Ensure continuity
The SDG Dialogue was established on behalf of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO and was previously managed by an interdisciplinary consortium. The two previous co-project leaders of the Dialogue, Rafael Enzler of Gutundgut and Veronika Schanderl of the Swiss Foundation for Technical Development Cooperation Swisscontact, are pleased about the integration into the newly created KONA: "The fact that we succeed in sustainability in the sense of continuity of the project is a success for all involved."
As part of the consortium, STV has been a partner of the dialogue since the beginning. "We have closely accompanied the SDG Tourism Dialogue from the beginning and are looking forward to continuing and also further developing the project in the interest of the community," says Philipp Niederberger, Director of STV.
Sustainable travel as a focus
In addition to the SDG dialogue, the "Swisstainable" sustainability program developed by Switzerland Tourism is also part of the STV's Sustainability Competence Center. The program awards businesses based on their commitment to sustainable development and creates orientation for guests.
With the SDG Tourism Dialogue and "Swisstainable," the tourism sector is fulfilling its responsibility, according to the statement. It is also doing its part to achieve the Federal Council's 2050 climate targets and the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to which Switzerland has committed.
