Last but not least: SRG and federal house lobbying
In the latest issue of *Trumpf Buur Zitig*—not a Jass newsletter, but a liberal-leaning political newspaper—Maximilian Reimann, an SVP member of the Council of States from Aargau, accuses the SRG of hypocrisy. An article in «Echo der Zeit» about lobbying failed to mention the SRG, a major lobbyist.
In the latest Trumpf Buur Zitig - not a jassbulletin but a political newspaper with a liberal slant - the SVP member of the Council of States from Aargau, Maximilian Reimann, accuses SRG of hypocrisy. In the radio magazine "Echo der Zeit" of March 20, Radio DRS ran a report on the allegedly rampant lobbying in the Federal Parliament. There had been talk of invitations to fine dining to trips or other gifts for parliamentarians. The article itself was correct, although he did not believe that parliamentarians could be so easily influenced. However, the "Echo der Zeit" did not mention the fact that the SRG itself is one of the largest and most sophisticated lobbyists under the federal dome. For example, parliamentarians are elected to regional and central councils (with good compensation), presence in the Federal Parliament is marked and invitations to lunches and film premieres are sent out. For that, he said, he does not criticize SRG. "But I take offense when the SRG practices hypocrisy, points a critical finger at others, but doesn't behave one iota differently itself!" Although the Trumpf Buur Zitig is, as I said, not a jass newspaper, this jab goes to Mr. Reimann.
