Collective labor agreement for SRG employees renewed

The Swiss Media Workers' Union (SSM) and the SRG have agreed on a new collective bargaining agreement: According to the union, the agreement provides, among other things, for longer maternity and paternity leave and allows employees to reduce their working hours toward the end of their careers without losing pension benefits.

With the improved collective labor agreement, which comes into force on January 1, 2022 and is initially valid until the end of 2025, SRG is sending a positive signal, writes SSM. SRG is prepared to "guarantee decent conditions for the work of its employees" even in times when the media industry is in crisis. This contributes to the quality of SRG productions.

The collective labor agreement should have been renewed already this year. However, several rounds of negotiations had to be canceled in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. As a result, SSM and SRG agreed to extend the current contract until the end of 2021. (SDA)
