Last but not least: A small glitch in a big country
Although it happened on Friday evening and is therefore no longer news in the traditional sense—for a «Last but Not Least» segment, the story of the ultimate iPhone glitch at the U.S. launch has to serve as an example once again.
Although it happened on Friday evening and is therefore no longer news in the traditional sense, the story is worth repeating for a "Last but not least": Bad luck for numerous iPhone fans in the USA - when they finally held the gem proudly in their hands after hours of queuing, many devices simply wouldn't work. And of course the scapegoat was quickly found - the telephone company AT&T, the exclusive distributor of the iPhone in the USA, quickly blamed the manufacturer Apple for the disaster. The iPod company had problems synchronizing between the phone and the online music service. According to an AT&T spokesperson, it was not possible to say how long it would take for the problem to be rectified, as this was a good question for Apple. Apple, however, did not comment at first. It's a bit of a bummer, especially if you've already thrown away your old cell phone in euphoric anticipation of the new status symbol. There's probably nothing left to do but fall back on a good old pay phone when you're out and about - if such a thing still exists.
