Sven Altermatt and Lucien Fluri become editors-in-chief of Solothurner Zeitung

Following the death of former editor-in-chief Balz Bruder, the Solothurner Zeitung, the Oltner Tagblatt, and the Grenchner Tagblatt will be led by a co-editorial team: Sven Altermatt and Lucien Fluri will take over editorial leadership of the publications starting in mid-November.

The two succeed Urs Mathys, who will retire at the end of October and was interim editor-in-chief following the death of Balz Bruder. This was announced by CH Media on Friday.

Both journalists previously worked in the domestic department of CH Media's central editorial office. Sven Altermatt is 27 years old, Lucien Fluri 38. Fluri received the Aargau/Solothurn Media Award in 2015, Altermatt the Swiss Press Award in 2018.

"It is a stroke of luck that we have succeeded in winning over these two colleagues for the challenging task in the canton of Solothurn," Rolf Cavalli is quoted as saying in the statement. As Editor-in-Chief Mittelland at CH Media, Cavalli is also responsible for the Solothurn editions.

Balz Bruder had died unexpectedly at the beginning of July at the age of 53 years (Werbewoche.ch reported). (SDA)
