Ralph Weibel becomes the new editor-in-chief of the printed Nebelspalter

Starting in April, Ralph Weibel will become the new editor-in-chief of the print edition of *Nebelspalter*. The current editor-in-chief, Marco Ratschiller, is stepping down to focus on projects outside the satirical magazine, as the new owner, Klarsicht, announced on Thursday.

The new editor-in-chief Weibel is 53 years old and from St. Gallen. He has reportedly also made a name for himself as a playwright and slam poet. He has been a producer at the satirical magazine since 2018 (Werbewoche.ch reported).

The 47-year-old Ratschiller will continue to produce satires and caricatures on the Nebelspalter contribute. He had been editor-in-chief since 2005. After the takeover by Klarsicht in December, he headed the print edition.

The delegate of the Board of Directors of Klarsicht is Markus Somm, former editor-in-chief and publisher of the Basel Newspaper. Somm founded the new owner company with around 60 other investors (Werbewoche.ch reported). Thomas Engeli, the previous owner of the Nebelspalteris the publisher.

Konrad Hummler, former partner of the former private bank Wegelin, is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Klarsicht. The bank collapsed under pressure from the US tax authorities.

The new owners want to Nebelspalter digitally, according to the press release. According to earlier information, the digital edition will go online in spring 2021. The print edition will remain unchanged. (SDA)
