Last but not least: Sepp Blatter flies for nothing
FIFA is treating itself to two luxury jets for the World Cup in South Africa to shuttle between the host cities. Of course, this isn't exactly cheap—it's reportedly costing the federation two million francs.
If it were up to the South African low-cost airline Kulula, these expenses could be avoided. Fifa President Sepp Blatter could even fly for free. In full-page newspaper advertisements, the company offered the Swiss free flights on the Kulula route network, according to the Handelszeitung: "We offer affordable flights for everyone except Sepp Blatter. He can fly for free," it said. Wherever he needed to go in the country under the best possible conditions: He should send an email to [email protected] and he would be flown for free. Last Sunday, a new advertisement from Kulula read: "It's official. Sepp Blatter is flying with us." It was immediately qualified: "Ok, it's not exactly the Sepp Blatter we were expecting, but a promise is a promise." No, it really wasn't the Sepp we were expecting: the lucky man who gets to fly for free is a dog, a Boston terrier to be precise, who lives in Cape Town. According to the airline, they are proud to have him on board. "Because every Sepp Blatter is a friend of ours."
