CH Media removes two technical journals from its range
The publishing company CH Media is also feeling the impact of declining advertising revenue in its technical trade journals. As a result, two of its five titles will be discontinued, and two positions will be eliminated.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the advertising revenues of technical journals have been falling steadily for several years in line with the general industry trend. Due to the loss of income, the consolidation of the portfolio of technical journals is imperative.
Some topics and headings of the titles concerned Bâtitech and House tech would be integrated into the continued titles HK-Gebäudetechnik, ET-Elektrotechnik and Planer Installateur by the end of February 2021. In the case of the French-language magazine Bâtitech this is done in German, a spokeswoman for CH Media wrote in response to an inquiry from the Keystone-SDA news agency.
According to the press release, all previous magazines enjoyed a loyal readership and stable readership figures. However, advertising revenue has eroded by double digits in recent years.
By bundling the topics in the three remaining technical journals, CH Media announced that the aim was to maintain the future viability of the specialist titles. As a result of the merger, two redundancies have been announced, with a social plan being applied. (SDA)
