Agency at the airport launches hidden object campaign for Synapsis Foundation
To raise funds for research, the Synapsis Foundation and the agency at the airport are reaching out to the Swiss public with the hidden-object campaign «Who Will Help Walter?» as part of World Alzheimer’s Day.

Alzheimer's, the "disease of forgetting," is still incurable today. The Synapsis Foundation - Alzheimer Research Switzerland wants to change this. It supports research into the development of the disease as well as into possibilities for early detection and the development of effective therapies. To do this, it relies on donations. The awareness and donation campaign by Agentur am Flughafen is intended to help with this.
Just the idea of gradually not being able to remember anything is frightening. This is the case for 128,000 Swiss people who suffer from Alzheimer's disease. But that's not all: according to researchers, the number of sufferers could rise to around 270,000 by 2045. The triggers of Alzheimer's disease are still not sufficiently clear. The Synapsis Foundation wants to change this and supports young, independent research groups in Switzerland in particular.
Who helps Walter?
The Foundation once again used World Alzheimer's Day on September 21 as an opportunity to draw attention to the problem of Alzheimer's throughout Switzerland. With a scattering in 1.2 million Swiss households, the foundation called on people not only to find Walter, but to actively help him. Those who visit the microsite Who-helps-walter.ch visits, can continue the search for Walter in a playful way and learn how various preventive measures can be taken to reduce the risk of developing dementia. By getting involved in the game, the recipients do the same to Walter. After all, just finding Walter contributes to mental fitness.
The Synapsis Foundation is asking as many Swiss people as possible to donate, but also to take prevention measures to heart and become active for the health of their brains. Because in addition to research into diagnosis and treatment methods, prevention is another important measure for a future without Alzheimer's disease.
