Corona rush: LeShop and Coop@Home struggle with problems
The Corona virus is pushing Swiss online stores to their limits. The queues at LeShop are long and deliveries are fully booked. Coop@Home was unavailable for most of Monday.

The run on the online stores of retail giants Migros and Coop is enormous due to the corona crisis.
While Coop@Home was still accessible on Monday morning, the rush brought the store to an apparent standstill. Until 3:30 p.m., the site was in maintenance mode. At 15:45, the store was up and running again.
"Coop@home is currently experiencing above-average traffic," said a media spokeswoman in response to an inquiry from Werbewoche.ch. "We are currently expanding the capacity of our systems. The store is up and running again."
According to Coopathome.ch, deliveries are currently booked up for several days, depending on the area - work is underway to increase capacity.
LeShop.ch is fully booked
Migros' LeShop.ch is also struggling with the rush. Since the end of last week, the company has been putting customers on a waiting list before they can order. While the waiting time on Monday morning was still 10 minutes, by 3 p.m. it was already 40 minutes.
Migros leaves various questions about the rush and the security of the coming days/weeks unanswered. Instead, a media spokesperson responds, "Due to the high demand, LeShop delivery dates are temporarily fully booked at the moment. We are working at full speed to further increase delivery capacities." According to the website, LeShop.ch is currently fully booked until the end of March.
