Swiss Poster Award: 36 campaigns on the shortlist
The shortlist for the 2019 Swiss Poster Award has been announced: 36 nominated campaigns have emerged from a field of 300 entries. At the «APG|SGA Poster Night» on March 12, 2020, the awards and the overall «Poster of the Year» prize will be presented to the nominees.

The Swiss Poster Award is one of the largest creative competitions in commercial communication for analog, digital, and innovative outdoor advertising in Switzerland. It honors outstanding work, emphasizes the value of design, and underscores the importance of the poster in the intermedia comparison.
The independent jury of experts, consisting of 20 personalities from advertising, culture and design, evaluated around 300 competition entries in January under the leadership of jury president Christian Brändle, Director of the Museum of Design Zurich. The 36 selected campaigns were convincing in terms of originality, implementation of the advertising message and design execution.
"This year, it was noticeable that digitalization is having a major impact. Many posters are now created as series and produced with countless variations of subjects. Spots for screens often react immediately to daily or even hourly news. A very exciting development," says the jury president.
Martin Walthert from Digitec Galaxus was involved in the judging for the first time. He comments: "It was enriching to exchange ideas with all the experts about the many entries. I am particularly enthusiastic about advertisements that effortlessly combine a clear, understandable message with an unusual, inspiring design or form. We have seen some good work in this area. But on a broader scale, a more conscious approach to the poster medium certainly couldn't hurt."
The winners will be announced on March 12, 2020 at the APG|SGA Poster Night in Hall 622 in Zurich Oerlikon. Laudators from the expert jury will present the awards in gold, silver or bronze in six categories. The highlight of the celebration is the presentation of the overall winner across all categories, the "Poster of the Year". Swiss presenter Alexandra Maurer will guide through the evening.
