Hazel Brugger hosts the "Swiss Music Awards
The "Swiss Music Awards" will have a new host in 2020: stand-up comedienne Hazel Brugger will guide through the 13th edition of the awards ceremony on Friday, February 28, at the KKL Luzern.

The 26-year-old Hazel Brugger knows her way around award shows, having already won the most important awards in her industry herself: including the German Cabaret Award, the Swiss Comedy Award, the German Comedy Award and the Salzburg Bull. She can also be seen on TV in various satire formats and her appearances as a stand-up comedienne are regularly sold out.
On February 28, 2020, Hazel Brugger will now host the "Swiss Music Awards" for the first time. The comedienne from Zurich's Unterland region, who began her career at the age of 17 on a poetry slam stage in Winterthur, sees her role at the awards ceremony as "midwife for the emotional moments": "The evening with me will certainly be funny, but it won't be a punchline slaughter, because after all, it's not about me." And it's certainly not about bashing musicians, says the comedienne, who was once dubbed "the baddest woman in Switzerland." "Of course, there are already people in this scene who should not be handled with kid gloves. But I'm certainly not going to throw a pie in the face of any award winner."
The "Swiss Music Awards" with Hazel Brugger will take place on Friday, February 28, 2020, at the Culture and Convention Center Lucerne and will be broadcast on TV on SRF two as well as on radio and online on SRF 3 and Srf3.ch starting at 8.05 pm.
