Following the sudden death of long-time publisher Christian Albrecht in August 2018, there were no changes at the Wallisellen Scoreboard a longer phase of uncertainty. The heirs have now sold the paper as of January 1, 2020, to Lokalinfo, based in Zurich.

This company, owned by former SVP National Council member Walter Frey, already publishes several local newspapers, for example in Opfikon, Kloten and Volketswil. In addition, there are city of Zurich neighborhood papers such as Züriberg and Zurich West.

Balance recorded in performance agreement

As the city of Wallisellen writes in a statement on Thursday, the political balance was set out in a performance agreement.

Lokalinfo has already shown with other papers that it sees local newspapers as an open forum for the entire spectrum of opinion and also implements this premise in its everyday editorial work. The local council is therefore convinced that this balance "will continue in its present form.

The newspaper will continue to be edited by Markus Lorbe, who has been editor for many years. The paper remains the official organ of publication. (SDA)
