Next stop: World Heritage Site
A little self-love never hurts: Berlin’s public transit authority, the BVG, is once again putting on a grand public relations spectacle and now aims for nothing less than World Heritage status.

The Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) are not particularly popular with most Berliners. Unfriendly, unpunctual, unreliable - anything but a love brand in everyday life. BVG usually responds to criticism from the public not with improvements, but with humorous advertising campaigns brimming with irony and sarcasm. The disarming claim: "Because we love you. That doesn't always go down well in Berlin. But it does with the rest of the world.
The latest communications coup: BVG wants to become a World Heritage Site. Because in a Berlin dominated by hipsters, Swabians and Spaniards, they see themselves as the unshakable constant of the original Berlin brashness. The world keeps on turning, but the BVG bus driver blatantly hits the roof.
Those who wish to support the motion can go to Bvg-weltkulturerbe.de cast his vote for inclusion. Unesco is certainly already eagerly awaiting the result.
