Mario Annoni becomes new President of SRG in French-speaking Switzerland
Former Bern State Councilor Mario Annoni has been appointed President of the Swiss Radio and Television Company of French-speaking Switzerland RTSR. He succeeds Jean-François Roth, who is stepping down from his post at the end of the year after twelve years.
Through his new role, Annoni will also become a member of SRG's Board of Directors, RTSR announced Friday. Annoni has been a member of SRG's Regional Company Western Switzerland since 2012.
Annoni wants in particular to defend the public service in order to preserve democracy. Without the important and objective reporting of the French-speaking Swiss radio and television RTS, Switzerland's direct democracy could not function, Annoni is quoted as saying in the press release. (SDA)
