Last but not least: For the friends of black art
Even 550 years after Gutenberg, lead typesetting and letterpress printing are still carried out using traditional methods. The old methods also seem to be suitable for advertising purposes.
They still exist, the friends of the black art, the lead typesetters and book printers who are still carrying on Gutenberg's craft after 550 years. The Gutenberg Guild in Zurich, for example - an association of former typesetters and book printers - has just published a directory with portraits and addresses of 29 workshops and museums in Switzerland where lead typesetting and letterpress printing are still used. The resulting pieces are almost unique and, we are assured, are also ideal for advertising purposes.
