Change in the chief editorship of Radio Top

Sandro Peter will become the new editor-in-chief of Radio Top effective November 1, 2019. He will succeed Manuela Burgermeister, who is leaving Radio Top at the end of October.

36-year-old Sandro Peter began his journalistic career seven years ago at Radio Top. After studying journalism at the University of Zurich, he started as a reporter at Radio Top. Over the years, he continuously took on additional responsibilities as chief of staff, coordinator of court reporting and, most recently, deputy editor-in-chief.

An internal solution was also found with Sarah Frattaroli for the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief. The 27-year-old from Winterthur studied political science and law and was then head of communications at Save the Children. She has been working at Radio Top for two years, most recently as Head of Service.

The current editor-in-chief Manuela Burgermeister is leaving Radio Top for "Blick TV" after around 13 years. Burgermeister started as a reporter at Radio Top in 2006, later becoming chief of staff and then being promoted to Head of East and Deputy Editor-in-Chief. As editor-in-chief, she has sustainably strengthened the Radio Top and Top Online brands over the past five years or so, according to a statement on Friday.

Manuela Straub will become the new Editor-in-Chief of Radio Top on February 1, 2014. She Jan Vontobel, who is leaving Radio Top at the end of January. Dave Burkard will be the new Deputy Editor-in-Chief.

The 30-year-old Manuela Straub started her journalistic career eight years ago at Radio Top. After training as a bookseller at the Volkshaus bookstore in Zurich, the Thurgau native started as a reporter at Radio Top. Over the years, she continuously took on additional responsibilities as Head of Service, Head of East and most recently as Deputy Editor-in-Chief.

With the appointment of Manuela Straub, Top Medien is underlining its strong commitment to promoting its employees in general and the next generation of managers in particular. Together with Corinne Wacker, who took up her post as head of presentation in the fall, two women will be responsible for Radio Top's programming for the first time. According to the press release, it is gratifying that an internal solution has also been found for the position of deputy editor-in-chief in Dave Burkhard. The 34-year-old from the Zurich Oberland has been working at Radio Top for almost six years, since 2011 as head of sports. He will continue to perform this function as deputy editor-in-chief.

The current editor-in-chief Jan Vontobel is leaving TOP-Medien for Radio1 after around 15 years. Vontobel started at Tele Top in 1998 as a video journalist. Later, as program manager, he played a decisive role in Tele Top's successful award of the license for the "Zurich Northeast Switzerland" region in 2008. As Editor-in-Chief of Radio Top, he has sustainably strengthened the Radio Top brand over the past five years or so.

Jan Vontobel will become editor-in-chief of Radio Top effective mid-March 2009. He will succeed Gianni Huber, who will assume the newly created position of quality assurance manager for both Radio Top and Tele Top.

Jan Vontobel will become Editor-in-Chief of Radio Top in mid-March 2009. Vontobel was most recently head of special programs and talk presenter at the private broadcaster in Eastern Switzerland. The 30-year-old began his journalistic career ten years ago as a video journalist at Tele Top. After completing his degree in journalism at the University of Zurich, he was appointed a member of the management team and from then on was responsible for the talk shows and the successful development of live reporting on election and voting Sundays, among other things. With Vontobel's appointment, the broadcaster wants to emphasize that management positions are recruited from within its own ranks wherever possible, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.
Vontobel replaces Gianni Huber, who will take over the newly created position of quality assurance at Radio Top and Tele Top. Huber worked in the station's day-to-day editorial business for over eleven years, four of them as editor-in-chief. With the creation of this position, the two private broadcasters have fulfilled an important aspect of the concession requirements for both stations of the Top Media Group, the press release continues. Gianni Huber will submit an evaluation report to Bakom as soon as possible.
