Competition is good: manufacturing technology fair in Bern
Tecnoswiss and Swissmechanic are partnering with Bernexpo: In March 2021, they will launch a new flagship trade show for the manufacturing industry. This means there will be three new technology trade shows in Bern in a single year. Will this benefit Swiss exhibitors?
The industry association Swissmechanic has withdrawn from Swisstech, which is held in parallel with Prodex, and is now supporting the new Industrialis in Bern. "Bernexpo's goal is to offer unique added value to the manufacturing industry and to develop an attractive, future-oriented platform together with strong partners," says Pascal Blanc (pictured above), Head of Industry and Technology Trade Fairs at Bernexpo.
Just two months after the successful Prodex 2019, Bernexpo Groupe and the industry associations Swissmechanic and tecnoswiss respectively are coming with their own trade fair for manufacturing technology, the big theme of Prodex. With Industrialis, Blech (pictured above), the established Sindex and now just the new trade fair for manufacturing technology, it is thus the most important organizer in Switzerland in the technology sector. The name of the new trade show will be developed in the coming months. It will take place every two years from 2021.
But with the new trade fair for manufacturing technology, Industrialis and Ble.ch, all three launched in 2019, there are now three trade fairs with similar themes. Isn't that overtaxing the exhibiting industry?
The Industrialis of the private organizer Expomech was the first direct attack on the Prodex as a machine tool fair. It will be absorbed into the new trade fair. Ble.ch focuses on sheet metal working, the trade fair for production technology - in short - on the production of the necessary tools. Instead of an overlap of topics, a topic delimitation suitable for trade fairs is created here.
Swissmechanic is already a partner at Industrialis, which will be launched for the first time in 2019, and Ble.ch, the sheet metal processing trade fair, which will also be held for the first time in 2019. Now Swissmechanic, formerly a partner of Swisstech/Prodex, is also supporting the new manufacturing industry trade fair and thus three of four technology trade fairs at Bernexpo.
The new fair confirms Bernexpo as the hub of the Swiss community for technology and industry. It will promote its name and brand identity in the coming weeks. Talks with further cooperation partners are underway.
