Burger King is grilling 1.5 million glasses in France—and including them with its meal deals. The campaign was conceived by the agency Buzzman.

Since 1954, Burger King has been throwing everything on the grill that isn't nailed down. Mostly burgers. Recently also glasses. In cooperation with the tableware manufacturer ARC, the fast food chain launched a unique campaign a few days ago: 1,519,229 unique flame-treated glasses were produced. From April 9 to May 6, every buyer of a Whopper Cheese & Bacon menu will receive a copy.

The campaign could also be interpreted as a further, discreet kick in the shin from main competitor McDonald's. McDonald's distributes branded collector's glasses with the menus at Olympic Games or soccer finals where it is a sponsor. However, compared to Burger King's eye-catching glasses, these are just about as original as it gets.
