"Leaving Neverland": Ombudsman has to deal with fake news allegations
The two-part Jackson documentary «Leaving Neverland,» which SRF 2 aired on Saturday, has drawn criticism. The main accusation is that it is «fake news,» as Roger Blum, the ombudsman for SRG Deutschschweiz, told the media on Monday in response to inquiries.

By 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, 22 complaints had been received against the documentary and the discussion program "Club", according to Blum. "It's not a flood, it's more of a trickle, but if it continues like this, it could be a high number by the end of the 20-day period," the ombudsman wrote.
The documentary "Leaving Neverland" by Dan Reed focuses on the stories of two men, James Safechuck and Wade Robson. They report that Michael Jackson sexually abused them as children.
"Are the allegations credible?" asks SRF on its website. SRF has decided to show the four-hour documentary and is accompanying it thematically. On Saturday, the online program "Club" dealt with the topic under the title "Michael Jackson: Genius or Monster?". The program can also be seen on SRF 1 on Tuesday. (SDA)
