These are the best Swiss apps of 2017

This year, the title of Master of Swiss Apps goes to "Go! So einfach geht Taxi". In addition to the crowning of the audience favorite, the more than 300 guests at the AURA on Zurich's Paradeplatz watched as the best app projects in Switzerland were honored in nine categories. Nine of the 138 entries were awarded gold. Across all categories, "INSIDE LAAX", the "BUX App" and "ewz-on" collected the most points - but the decisive factor for the master title of Go! was the favor of the audience."go! cab is that easy" is Master of Swiss AppsIn addition to two silver and two bronze awards, the Swiss alternative (answer) to UBER secured the title of Master of Swiss Apps. However, the "Go!" app commissioned by yourmile and implemented by Apps with love is much more than just an Uber copy-cat. The app is a platform for the cab industry and enables simple and uncomplicated access to all cab companies at a transparent fixed price. The journey is booked with a maximum of four taps. On-boarding can be completed successfully with little effort, the UI is well thought out and has a very good design and visual language. The clear display of the fixed price, the cab's arrival time and the duration of the journey avoid any misunderstandings. With the Go app, the Swiss cab industry has a strong alternative to Uber - this convinced not only the jury, but above all the audience.Weisse Arena Group and University of St.Gallen are the "best in classIn this edition, the Weisse Arena Gruppe and the University of St.Gallen proved themselves to be innovative organizations with strong implementation skills. Weisse Arena Gruppe took home two gold medals and a silver medal for the "Inside Laax" app developed with Inside Labs. The Inside Laax app fits in well with Laax's overall strategy and combines various areas of the lifts, gastronomy and other applications. For example, you can buy lift tickets, call up live information or track your own performance on the mountain. Overall, the Inside Laax app has an above-average range of functions - for both winter and summer. The Inside Laax app is the benchmark in the field of tourism apps, and the University of St. Gallen was also able to secure two gold and one silver award for the BUX app implemented by dreipol. The gold award in the "Virtual/Augmented Reality" category deserves special mention here. The Bux app is a cleverly conceived city guide that invites locals and tourists on a literary journey through Zurich. In playfully narrated city tours, BUX takes users to Zurich's most interesting literary locations. Thanks to multimedia content such as augmented reality features, 360-degree videos and audio book passages, the app offers users an immersive experience. The project stands out not least because of the large number of stakeholders with whom it has been possible to produce a stringent app, but in addition to the points awarded by the jury, the vote of the readership of Netzwoche and the ICT Journal, as well as the votes of the audience at the award night, are decisive for the title of "Master of Swiss Apps"; therefore both "best in class" missed out on the award for "most popular app of the year".Double gold for ewz-onThe ewz-on project took second place behind the two best in the class, with 18 points each. ewz-on is a varied journey through the history of electricity. The app for ewz's 125th anniversary playfully tells the story of electrification in different eras - with an exciting look into the near future. The campaign message is conveyed via six varied mini-games. The app was commissioned by EWZ and implemented by Staay. All winnersThe 'Best of Swiss Apps Awards' were presented for the fifth time this year. Swiss app agencies submitted a total of 138 entries in nine categories this year. In a first step, our 60-member jury shortlisted 31 projects, seven of which were nominated as master candidates. As a result of the entire judging process, 23 entries were selected as winners at tonight's Award Night; nine of them as Gold winners and one of them as Master. here.
