Dog and cat get pet app

Former SRF producer Astrid von Stockar (Aeschbacher, Club etc.) came up with the idea for "MyPetShare" together with two Swiss friends. "As a TV journalist, documentary filmmaker and entrepreneur, I am constantly on the move and torn between my projects, family and pets. Finding a good place for my two dogs while filming abroad usually takes a lot of time and nerves. Using an app or online to find a dog-walking service nearby or to exchange other dog-related services makes my life much easier," says von Stockar.

Who will look after my dog?

What began as an idea for a pet-sharing app soon expanded into a social media app for pets, where people can share pictures, videos, information and services. In 2015, Astrid von Stockar founded the company together with Patrick Müller and his wife Paz Müller-R. Zarauz (who are also dog owners) founded the company Petshare AG in Zurich with the aim of developing the "myPetShare" app and the website www.myPetShare.com. A year ago, the Zurich trio launched the free "myPetShare" app in the App Store. Since then, the number of users has been growing steadily. Similar to Facebook, pet profiles with photos and videos are created for users' own pets. As with Facebook and Instagram, other users can follow the profiles, like, comment on and share the pictures. Even if you don't have a pet of your own, you can join in and simply browse through the cute pictures or funny videos in the gallery. "MyPetShare" knows where the nearest pet shop is The practical value of "myPetShare" lies in the service section. There, app users can offer or search for a pet-related service, such as pet sitting. Every user can see the offers available near their location worldwide. Anyone traveling with their four-legged friend can search specifically for a vet or pet shop in the area. As the network grows, new services or search queries are added daily. In principle, advertising on "myPetShare" is free of charge. Anyone wishing to place a somewhat larger ad with a picture can do so for one dollar a month via "Service Pro". Companies and charitable animal foundations now have the option of booking their own video channel on "myPetShare". The app is currently available for iOS, with a version for Android in development.
