First Swiss Digital Day

The first Swiss Digital Day has developed into a major event that is unique in Europe. Over 40 companies and institutions show the general public in all parts of the country what digitalization means in concrete terms today and in the future. The Digital Day takes people and their questions seriously and launches a debate about the future by highlighting the great opportunities offered by digitalization.

Understanding the digital revolution

The aim of the Digital Day is to bring the general public into contact with the effects of digitalization and to show how society, the economy, work and private life are changing as a result of the new technological possibilities. The population should have the opportunity to experience and understand the digital revolution in all its facets. Marc Walder, initiator of Digitalswitzerlandsees this as a great opportunity: "Digital Day is not a whitewashing event, but rather highlights the opportunities that digitalization offers. It makes it clear to people in our country that they are witnessing a historic era for which Switzerland has excellent prerequisites."

Program in train stations

A moderated program on the topics of mobility, media, education and work, technology and innovation, health and virtual reality will take place at Zurich main station during the Digital Day. Geneva, Chur and Lugano stations are the other hubs of the Digital Day. In addition, numerous branches and centers of the participating partners throughout Switzerland will be engaging in dialogue about digitalization. At these locations, digitalization will be brought to life for the public with a variety of programme focuses.
