AI has defined his life from a young age. As a 15-year-old, he decided to create an AI that was smarter than himself and then retire. Since then, he has achieved various milestones. The deep neural networks of his award-winning research groups revolutionized machine learning, are now in three billion smartphones, and are used billions of times every day, e.g. in Facebook's automatic translation, Google's speech recognition, Apple's Siri, Amazon's Alexa, etc. They were the first in the world to achieve superhuman visual pattern recognition results, important for early cancer detection, among other things. He has received numerous international awards and is president of NNAISENSE, which aims to create the first practical general-purpose AI. Former employees shaped the start-up Deep Mind, which was sold to Google three years ago for 600 million dollars.
