Davidoff realized a film that deals with the protection of the oceans. The first fragrance inspired by the sea, Davidoff Cool Water, is a pioneer in marine conservation. This summer, Davidoff presents a new film starring brand ambassador Scott Eastwood, which calls for the protection of one of the world's most precious - but also one of the most endangered - natural resources. The film is a continuation of DavidoffCool Water's long-running "Love the Ocean" campaign in support of the National Geographic Society's Pristine Seas Project. The aim of the project is to declare ten percent of the world's oceans as nature conservation zones by 2020.Power to changeThe new film, which will be released on numerous digital platforms on July 1, 2016, takes the "Love the Ocean" campaign one step further with a call for personal action. The film aims to convince people that every individual is capable of making a difference. "Each of us has many opportunities to change the world - more opportunities than we might think," explains Scott Eastwood, who has a very special connection to the ocean, having been born in California and raised in Hawaii.Shot very close to his hometown of San Diego, the Davidoff Cool Water film highlights Scott Eastwood's profound interest in ocean conservation and his commitment to fighting water pollution. The film also features a beach cleanup based on a collaboration between the National Geographic Society and the Surfrider Foundation. With 80 percent of marine pollution occurring on land and current estimates suggesting that there will be more plastic than fish by weight in the world's oceans by 2050, beach cleanups - alongside simple lifestyle changes - are a great way to help protect the oceans. "Even one person can make a huge contribution to protecting the oceans," says National Geographic Explorer Shah Selbe. From the individual to the global wholeBy extending the "Love the Ocean" campaign through a call to individual action, Davidoff Cool Water aims to complement the impressive progress that the National Geographic Society's Pristine Seas project has already made on a global scale. Since 2012, Davidoff Cool Water has supported a total of 14 Pristine Seas expeditions, which have already helped to create five marine protected areas, covering a total area of 1,713,518 square kilometers and representing 2.18 percent of the world's oceans.the message of the film is: We all have a part to play! That's why Davidoff Cool Water is supporting local beach clean-up campaigns throughout the summer of 2016 and wants to encourage a change in thinking - as Scott Eastwood says at the end of the film: "Change starts with just one hour of your time, in just one day, with just one piece of litter."About the "Love the Ocean" campaignFor several years, Davidoff Cool Water has been working with the National Geographic Society to support its Pristine Seas expeditions to explore and protect endangered marine ecosystems around the world.
