The cabins themselves are produced in Seftigen near Thun in the Gangloff Cabins production line. The panorama gondolas were developed together with the renowned design studio "Porsche Design Studio from Zell am See". To meet the high quality requirements, the gondolas are equipped with various special features such as safety laminated glass, comfort seats and lighting.Technical details of the new gondola liftThe 10-passenger gondola lift is characterized by an almost 1,500m long track with an altitude difference of about 500m. The system with a track of 6.5m runs over 11 supports. In its final configuration, the installation is equipped with 24 gondolas and transports 1200 passengers per hour.Time frame for implementationThe planning approval procedure for the new Eggli Railway will be submitted by August 2016. This is necessary in order to obtain the building permit in March/April 2017. The necessary amendment to the zoning ordinance will be submitted for public consultation at the end of May 2016. From the 2017/2018 winter season, provided there are no objections or procedural problems, the new lift should be in operation together with the renovated and expanded restaurant at the top station.Eggli as a mountain for connoisseursWith the new design gondola lift, Gstaad's local mountain will become even more of a connoisseur's mountain. The mountain will not only be available to designated recreational athletes and gourmets for culinary flights of fancy, but also to people with disabilities and families with strollers. This is made possible by the step-free access to the gondola and the large space available in the gondola.
