Clear Channel takes over advertising space in Zurich and Lucerne
EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT Clear Channel Switzerland has been awarded the contract for the majority of the advertising space at bus and streetcar stops operated by the Zurich public transport company VBZ and in the city of Lucerne. From 2017, Clear Channel will market the majority of the approximately 1,200 advertising spaces at VBZ bus and streetcar stops. VBZ had put the advertising spaces at bus and streetcar stops as well as at depots and garages of the Zurich transport company out to public tender in lots and has now awarded the contract to Clear Channel. Clear Channel considers the VBZ tender in lots to be very positive. Participation was open to all providers and enabled greater competition between the providers. The poster sites are located in extremely attractive locations with above-average footfall and along the busiest roads in the city of Zurich. Jürg Rötheli, Vice President Central Europe and CEO of Clear Channel Switzerland, is delighted: "After winning the tender for the digital screens and the illuminated rotating pillars for the city of Zurich, this is another milestone in the implementation of our strategy of offering our customers the most attractive and customized advertising solutions. "The company will also be marketing more than 550 poster sites for paper posters, illuminated posters/digital poster sites and poster sites at bus stops on public land and on property owned by the city of Lucerne from 2016. The city council had put the contracts for the billposting out to public tender in lots. Clear Channel has now been awarded the contract for this. In the course of 2016, two digital poster sites will also be set up on Bahnhofplatz and Löwenplatz to test the customer-friendliness of the digital city map and the urban integration of digital advertising. This pilot test is also being carried out by Clear Channel. Thorsten Weber, Product & Infrastructure Director Clear Channel Switzerland, is delighted with the approval: "This will allow us to greatly expand our national offering and provide our customers with advertising space in prime locations throughout the city of Lucerne. We are particularly pleased that we can also carry out the pilot test to test the impact of digital poster sites. We are also very much looking forward to the partnership with the city of Lucerne."
