Green light for online marketplace from Coop and Swisscom

ONLINE MARKETPLACE The Competition Commission (Weko) gives the green light for the planned cooperation between Coop and Swisscom to launch an online marketplace.Coop has founded Eos Commerce AG, the company behind the marketplace, which will go live with the new online marketplace under the name Siroop in 2016. Swisscom is taking a 50 % stake in the project. Both partners, Coop and Swisscom, want to contribute their expertise in the areas of digitalization, eCommerce, marketing and retail to the start-up.Siroop.ch will be accessible to all market participants. The employees of the start-up Eos Commerce AG are currently developing the platform and evaluating external retailers. Siroop will initially start with a pilot in one region, and the marketplace will then cover the whole of Switzerland in 2016.
