Excellent night owls

AWARDS CEREMONY On February 7, the fifth Swiss Nightlife Award was presented. The awards recognized the most creative and innovative figures in Swiss nightlife in 2014 across twelve categories. 

The Golden Owl "Lifetime Award" went for the first time to an institution: Street Parade. Among the top sellers of the Swiss Nightlife Awards were many Romands. For example, the D! Club (Best Big Club), the Electrosanne Festival (Best Big Event) and AProdiA (Best Event Series) beat out their competitors. In German-speaking Switzerland, the golden owl went to the hip DJ duo Adriatique from Zurich (Best Electronica DJ), the Basel club Nordstern (second award) or the Bernese club Rondel (Best New Location), among others.For the first time, the Lifetime Award was not presented to an individual, but to an institution, the Street Parade. Stefan Epli, media spokesman for the big event, is pleased "that the event, unbroken since its founding year in 1992, inspires hundreds of thousands of people every year." Street Parade President Joel Meier and initiator Marek Krynski accepted the award on site. The moderation trio Zoe Torinesi, Max Loong and Serap Yavuz led through the evening.
