Insights into the Swiss TV future

Swiss Txt has realized the following projects for SRG SSR:Radio live streaming appThis app offers the option of consuming all SRG radio stations, including the satellite radio stations Swiss Pop, Swiss Jazz and Swiss Classic, on the SRG's HbbTV services on the Smart TV or on HbbTV. It is also possible to switch on the news individually for the satellite radios. The service was launched on 04.11.2014. Switching on the news via the push service was the biggest technical challenge due to the technology used.Live streaming appWith this solution, programs that are currently only available on the SRG TV channels' websites can now also be consumed on Smart TV or HbbTV. For users, this means additional virtual TV channels, among other things. For example, it was possible to follow the action in the glass box during "Jeder Rappen zählt". The requirements for a stable infrastructure in terms of bandwidth and its scalability were the biggest challenge in this project.Voting appIn future, viewers will be able to use this application to express their opinion with several possible answers (e.g. to cast their vote for gameshows or sporting events). The service will be activated whenever votes are cast in a program. The focus of the considerations was the backend configuration for flexible management of all votes.
