Epica Awards 2018: These Swiss agencies have hope
Next week, the 31st Epica Awards will be presented in Amsterdam. Five Swiss agencies are in the running for a total of 17 spots on the shortlist.

It's that time of year again: the Epica Awards are upon us. Media representatives from specialist advertising media - including, as always, Werbewoche - will gather in Amsterdam next week to select the best work from the global creative industry. This year, the award has received 4020 submissions - 20 per cent more than in 2017. The organizers attribute this increase to the return of the Publicis Group to the award circus, plus the fact that agencies from Germany and Latin America have been remarkably keen to submit entries. Germany also leads the list of submissions, ahead of the USA and France.
The list of finalists hoping to win an Epica pyramid also includes various Swiss agencies. Jung von Matt/Limmat and Ruf Lanz have secured several chances with seven and five shortlist placements respectively. Serviceplan Group Switzerland has also made it onto the list of finalists three times. It is pleasing to note that two agencies from western Switzerland, Cavalcade and Havas Geneva, are also in the running for the precious metal.
Advertising Week will again be reporting daily from Amsterdam next week and will announce all the Swiss winners in advance. (hae)
