Marc Walder, CEO and Managing Partner of Ringier, on the nomination of Ralph Büchi: "We are delighted that Ralph Büchi is to be proposed for the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Axel Springer. This is both a great honor and recognition of his work in recent years. Ralph Büchi is one of the most experienced and respected media managers in Europe."

Ralph Büchi will fulfill his contract with Ringier, which runs until April 2020, and will remain COO of Ringier and CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland until then. If elected, he will resign from his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ringier Axel Springer Media in Eastern Europe. The nomination is independent of the existing cooperation between the two media companies in Eastern Europe and Switzerland and has no further structural implications.

Büchi already knows the Springer Group very well. From 1999 to 2017, he held various management positions for the publisher of Image and World responsible for international business from 2008 and a member of the Management Board from 2012 to 2014. (pd/SDA/hae)
