Banksy in Swedish
IKEA and the agency The Smarts have responded to Banksy's shredding campaign in Bulgaria.

Shortly after the hammer fell at Sotheby's auction house in London, the painting by street artist Banksy self-destructed. A built-in shredder turned the artwork, for which 1.4 million was bid, into waste. The action caused a worldwide sensation and speculation about the background. The artist, who has kept his identity secret, stated that he had installed a shredder years ago in order to be able to destroy the painting in the event of a resale. Others suspect that the auction house was involved in the media-effective performance.

However, IKEA quickly turned the campaign into a motif and is advertising the Rorkar rug in Bulgaria in line with current trends. (hae)
