Roli Hofer stages the spectacle of the revolution for the National Museum

50 years ago, Switzerland was experiencing turbulent times: AJZ, Globus riots, the Zurich Manifesto. But the '68 youth riots were also a social milestone that heralded a radical change in all areas of life. The revolt was young, international, spontaneous and theoretical, liberating and militant.

As descendants of the 1968 generation, Stefan Zweifel and Juri Steiner present their perspective on this formative time. The current exhibition "Imagine 68" at the Landesmuseum is a collage of objects, films, photos, music and art and brings the atmosphere of 1968 to life for the senses.

Although often glorified in retrospect, the revolution was a delicate little plant - blossoming between convention and dogma, between pacifism and violence. The key visual illustrates how an idea became an ideal, and how the ideal became a movement that still shapes our coexistence 50 years on. The exhibition can be seen at the National Museum until January 20, 2019.
