Google establishes data center in the canton of Aargau
According to SonntagsBlick, Google will set up its announced data center at Green, a company owned by Luzern-based SVP National Council member Franz Grüter.

Google announced in May that it would also be building a data center in the Zurich region. The IT giant already operates its largest site outside the USA in Zurich. As SonntagsBlick has now discovered, "Zurich region" is an elastic term. Green is building a high-security data center in Lupfig, Aargau, according to Google's requirements. Google already operates five such centers in Europe and 17 worldwide, which channel and distribute the gigantic data streams that Google processes on a daily basis.
According to the research, the foundation stone will be laid next Friday. The Google Group only confirmed to the newspaper that it would be opening a Google Cloud platform in Switzerland in 2019, working with a local provider. The new data center will employ around a dozen people. (hae)
