The ugly nineties
Refreshing: Skoda admits to having built ugly cars in the ’90s.

Finally a new approach. The French agency communicates for Skoda: Yes, it wasn't so great in the past, but today that is no longer the case. And thus appeals to a target group that was young in the nineties - and affluent today.

Anyone who looks at their own photos from this period will know what we're talking about. Even if some of the things Rosapark has collected are from the previous decade (e.g. mullet hairstyles or the orange Walkman headphones).

The only question that remains is whether things are so much better for Skoda today. Yes. The brand has now shed the staid exterior of the nineties and noughties and builds quite respectable models - which at least look like all the others. But that's standard today. (hae)
