Telebasel expands its presence in Basel and now also plays on the Barfi treadmill
Since the end of February, Telebasel has held the exclusive right to broadcast content on BVB trams and buses. To further expand its presence in downtown Basel, Telebasel will now exclusively manage the video display at Barfüsserplatz, featuring regional news and other regional content.
Thus, the Basel population will continue to be kept up to date on the Barfi, according to a statement on Friday. The owner of the display is the Basel restaurateur and landlord president Josef Schüpfer. He was able to buy the treadmill from Barfi.ch about a year ago. The Tageswoche pointed the sale in July 2017 already as a sign of the end of the news portal of media pioneer Christian Heeb.
Telebasel boasts that it is the most successful regional TV station in Switzerland. The station cites an 8.5 percent increase in viewers in the 1st half of 2018 compared to the same period last year as the reason. (hae)
